Rather then send HP any more money I tried a fix.
First of all its not a jerry-rig to the problem. Wipe loose dirt and moisture from the battery using an old rag. Send it in to Dell repair and have them replace the entire bottom of the computer. I have to pull the seat and tighten the battery cables and life is good again.
