It was a proper battery clip and in it a battery that I had in plentiful supply in my tool closet. I have recently acquired a Compaq NC6320 the date and time are always wrong always reverting back to December 1980. I think my laptop have an issue with CMOS because my laptop cant be boot on when the power is on 50 and below but when I plugged it in it will boot on with CMOS message CMOS Reset.
